Hi I’m Vicky. I qualified as Veterinary Nurse in 2008 and worked in various related roles from management to lecturing before making the step into counselling. I qualified in 2019, and have worked in a university and sexual and domestic violence charity before moving into my current role of High Intensity Psychological Therapist fo an NHS service.
In my private practice I work closely with veterinary staff, my RVN background is
particularly useful here. One of my main interests is supporting people impacted by work related stress, burnout and compassion fatigue. From my own experience in practice I am familiar with the impact this has on veterinary teams and other caring roles.

Hi I’m Tess!
I have worked in a vet clinic since I was 17 years old. I started out as a work experience student and was hired as a trainee whilst I studied Veterinary Nursing. I worked full time and studied online.
That started in 2012 and to this day I still work for the same vet clinic. It's been 10 years of growth, passion and building the person I am today.
I started managing all of our social media platforms in 2015 and in 2018, I was promoted to Practice Manager.
Ive also dabbled in a bit of after hours emergency hospital work.
I have a real soft spot for brachycephalic (squishy-faced) breeds and a passion educating others on animal care!
These days, I manage every aspect of our day-to-day operations in an absolutely beautiful, hospital grade clinic. I look after 5 Vets, 13 Vet Nurses & 2 Kennel Hands.
I have all different duties from administration, sorting through job applications, reading resumes & interviewing to training staff, monitoring anaesthetics, performing dentals and also keeping my team happy.
One minute I will be in my office sending out vaccination reminders, and the next I am scrubbed into a surgery helping a Veterinarian with a complex surgery. I love it and I couldn't see myself doing anything else. Every day is different!
Over the years, I have squeezed in some animal charity fundraising to help those less fortunate. Ive worked with BARC,Animal Welfare League, Animal Aid Unlimited & Pets in the Park.
I live on the Gold Coast in Australia, right near the beach with my Boston Terrier "Daphne." We both love the sun and our daily ice latte walks. In 2023 we created our our range of Dog Accessories called "Baby Pets."
I come from a family of animal lovers. My dad has a million birds, and my mum has never once refused me bringing home a sick or foster pet. (Trust me there have been many & most of them still live there!)

Hi I am Katie and I own Mayfield Vet Physio.
My passion for orthopedics and geriatric care in veterinary nursing, combined with my lifelong love for horses, made transitioning into veterinary physiotherapy a natural progression in my career. This path allows me to merge my interests in both small animal veterinary medicine and equine care.
Currently, I am part of an incredible team at a small animal first opinion practice and also work as a locum at an out-of-hours emergency veterinary clinic, where I provide emergency and critical care.
I am committed to ensuring that each of my physiotherapy patients receives a tailored, holistic treatment plan. My background in veterinary nursing gives me a deep understanding of injuries and disease processes, enabling me to deliver the best possible care for your horse or dog. I collaborate closely with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, nutritionists, behaviorists, and saddle fitters to provide comprehensive care.
I have extensive experience working with nervous, anxious, or young horses, especially during the early stages of their training journey.
When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my horses, my loyal black Labrador, and my wonderful family.

🐶 Welcome to Snout & About – Mobile Vet Nurse
Hi, I’m Rebecca O’Brien, founder of Snout & About, a mobile veterinary nursing service dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of your own home.
I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over five years of clinical experience, fully registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Based in the northeast of England (Blyth centered) I also hold a Certificate in Feline Nursing, earning me the professional title:
Rebecca O’Brien RVN ISFM CertFN.
Alongside running Snout & About, I currently work as a locum veterinary nurse within practice, allowing me to maintain strong clinical skills and remain closely connected to the day-to-day realities of modern veterinary medicine. I am deeply committed to professional development and continuously update my knowledge by completing regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure the care I provide reflects the latest standards and best practices.
Snout & About was created with one clear goal:
to make veterinary care less stressful, more personal, and more accessible for both pets and their owners. By providing a wide range of nursing treatments and support services at home, I help reduce anxiety associated with clinic visits and allow your pet to receive care in the environment where they feel safest.
My approach is built around fear-free handling and gentle, low-stress techniques, ensuring every visit is calm, respectful, and tailored to your pet’s individual needs.
Outside of work, I’m a proud pet parent to Betsy, my beautiful long-haired cat, Prada, my inquisitive Sphynx, and Mulan, my cheeky French Bulldog. They remind me every day why compassionate, patient-centred care matters so much — and they inspire everything I do through Snout & About.

Hi! I am Gemma and I own Forward Thoughts Therapy.
I am a Person-Centred counsellor offering remote therapy sessions to those who may need a little support in their time of need.
I understand the importance of being able to trust someone with your personal thoughts and emotions, it is never easy sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings, especially if you don't know the person you're sharing them with. So I thought you may like to know a little bit about me.
Here I am! With one of my many pets, Penny.
I am a huge animal lover and learnt my empathy from working with animals my entire life. I started working at aged 15, initially in a boarding and rescue kennels and cattery, then eventually having the opportunity to train and qualify as a veterinary nurse. I did this for 17 years before deciding to train in counselling.
I chose to diversify into counselling because I felt a connection with people and having the ability to listen without judgement and with true understanding seemed to come natural to me.
I've studied for almost 4 years before qualifying as a Person-Centred counsellor and I have seen many clients along the way, meeting a variety of people with various needs of support, and I really thrive being there with my client in the moment.
During my studies I have recently got married, we do not have any children together, but we have lots of pets that keep us busy and entertained, and we have nephews and nieces and we adore them all.
I love to go caravanning in the UK, that's my favourite hobby! And alongside counselling, I have a small Petcare business where I do a lot of dog walking and cat sitting. I also volunteer at Mind, the mental health charity, and with a local animal rescue where I foster some of their more nervous rescue animals and help with their fundraising fairs.
My favourite forms of self-care are going for woodland walks to connect with nature, visiting a beach and hearing the waves wash against the sand (even if it's only Blackpool!) or taking a nice hot bubble bath and watching a bit of netflix while I soak.
Otherwise, you'll find me out training my dogs and trying to tire them out as they're very excitable staffies!
